At Miss McFadden Educational Therapy, we help children who are struggling with reading, writing and spelling to build the strong foundations they need to thrive.
Based in Bathurst, New South Wales, we specialise in supporting school-age children with dyslexia, dysgraphia, auditory and visual processing disorders, phonological speech sound disorders and neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD and Autism.
Our approach is grounded in Multisensory Structured Language Therapy, the only research-backed method proven to support children with dyslexia and language-based learning difficulties. It works by actively engaging multiple senses at the same time, seeing, hearing and moving, to strengthen how the brain processes and remembers written language. Sessions are carefully structured and build step by step across key areas including phonemic awareness, phonics, morphology, syntax and semantics.
Every program begins with a thorough 1-hour Initial Consultation. This diagnostic assessment gives us a detailed picture of your child's strengths, gaps and individual learning needs and forms the foundation of a therapy plan designed specifically for them. You also receive a written report that is useful for teachers and other support professionals involved in your child's care.
From there, your child attends weekly 45-minute 1-on-1 therapy sessions in a calm, sensory-supportive room that can be adjusted for temperature, sound, light and movement to suit their needs.
